This Yellow™ heading lists manufacturers and service centres of air compressors. An air compressor increases the pressure of air that is otherwise at atmospheric compression levels, and allows more of it to fit within a container of limited space. By doing this, the volume of the gas is effectively reduced, thus making it more space efficient. This principle makes air compressors useful for activities that require increased amounts of pressure or longer requirements of air where it is not normally prevalent. Additionally, it also allows gas to be transported in a more efficient manner.
An air compressor can store air into a cylinder for later use where air is not abundant, as well as use the air as a tool to lift or move heavy devices. Scuba divers use compressed air to breathe while underwater, while some construction equipment also use it to complete tasks that would otherwise be too heavy or difficult for a human being to complete (i.e. nail guns). Safety devices are attached to most air compressors to ensure that the compressed air does not become condensed to the point where the container can no longer hold the air. Release valves allow excess air to be removed from the container, thus avoiding explosions or other issues.
Air compressor servicing is used to essentially repair compressors that have broken parts, or otherwise aren’t working properly. A service person will assist with different aspects of compressor maintenance and sales.
