For information on air purification equipment look under this Yellow™ heading. Air purification equipment is used to eliminate harmful airborne particles in various ways. The most common method is a simple filter set inside a fan-type device. The air is pushed through the fan, thus trapping the particles in the fan, and pushing the fresh air out into the room. This provides fresher, healthier and more breathable air.
Air purifiers have been in existence for decades, although recent innovations have made use of the latest technology to allow even better results. UV light Air Purifiers use the technology of ultra-violet light to destroy certain airborne bacteria, thus eliminating them from the air. The UV light is only exposed to the air within the purification device and never the outside air for safety reasons.
Negative ion air purifiers are most commonly used in air purifications systems. They work on the principle of negatively and positively charged ions to attract airborne particles to the filter. Most airborne bacteria, dander, etc., naturally give off a negative charge. The filter is a positively charged device that then attracts the particles to it.
