Arbitrators--Commercial

About the Arbitrators–Commercial heading in Yellow™

Information on commercial arbitrators can be found under this Yellow™ heading. An arbitrator is an individual who acts as a third party to attempt to resolve a dispute between two or more parties. A commercial arbitrator works specifically with businesses to resolve business to business disputes. Arbitrators provide a legally binding service though the parties involved resolve the situation outside of a courtroom. If the parties are unable to reach an agreement, then the matter must be escalated past arbitration.

A commercial arbitrator provides services on a business to business level. He / she attempts to resolve disputes between companies. If an agreement is reached, an authorised representative from each party is asked to sign a legally binding document that officially resolves the dispute and keeps it out of a courtroom. If an agreement is not reached, the dispute is then escalated past arbitration and possibly into a court room.

Arbitration is a method designed to avoid both the costs and hassles of courtroom disputes. The process involves both parties presenting their case and formally attempting to reach an agreement. This can be completed with or without an attorney, although one is generally recommended, especially with commercial cases.
