About the Archaeology heading in Yellow™

Information on archaeology can be found under this Yellow™ heading. An archaeologist is an individual educated in the study of past historic and prehistoric cultures. Archaeology consists of studying artefacts and places of significance of past cultures. The study of archaeology looks for learning from the past, in hopes that this will assist with the education of particular cultures moving forward.

An archaeologist examines various remains of past historic and prehistoric cultures in hope of finding significance in them. For example, an archaeologist may devote his / her career to study ancient civilisations. Here, the archaeologist will search for items of importance such as ruins, temples and / or other material of origin. Once found and properly studied, this may open up knowledge paths as to how ancient civilisations travelled, what they fed on, what type of habits they had, etc.

Archaeologists receive funding for expeditions from various sources. These could include museums that sponsor these expeditions to add to their collections or a private trust or individual with a vested interest in specific artefacts of history for collection or education.
