Information on badminton can be found under this Yellow™ heading. Badminton is a sport that involves pairs of individuals, either two people, or four. The object of the game is similar to tennis, in that the player must hit an object across the court in the hope that the other team or individual cannot hit it back. The object being hit is called a shuttlecock, and is allowed to bounce off the ground once before it is considered out.
Badminton can be played with a minimum of two individuals (singles event) or two teams consisting of two players each (doubles). The sport is extremely similar to tennis, although it is usually played indoors.
The shuttlecock is a feathered object that comes almost to a point on one end. The shuttlecock flies through the air freely and is very light, thus adding a challenge to the game. One must be able to hit the shuttlecock to the other player’s side of the court, in an attempt to hit it beyond their reach, but within foul areas.
