Listings of baggage agents can be found under this Yellow™ heading. A baggage agent is generally an employee of an airline, bus company, or other travel-related company; who handles all aspects of a traveller’s luggage. Functions of each individual baggage agent can vary from agent-to-agent, but largely consists of the proper transportation and delivery of a client’s luggage to and from their final destination.
A baggage agent for an airline or bus company will typically provide “curb-side” service to travellers for little or no additional cost. With this service, the agent will meet the customer at the “curb”, as they exit their vehicle or taxi, and will begin the process of transporting their baggage. During the process, the agent will collect all the necessary information, such as ticket information, destination, name, contact information, etc.
Baggage agents also specialise in the loading and unloading of baggage from the transportation vehicle (i.e. airplane, bus, train, etc.). At the point of unload, the luggage will be sent to a “baggage claim” area where the traveller will finally claim his / her luggage.
