In general, using a physical location would imply actually visiting the site in order to carry out transactions like withdrawal, deposits, etc. Whereas a virtual site will enable carrying out the same transactions online.

Some banks also provide a vault service that allows individuals to place certain items within specified weight, size, and other restrictions into a safety deposit box inside the bank’s vault. The item is first locked in a box that requires the use of two sets of keys to be opened (one kept with the owner of the valuables and the other with the bank). As a second method of protection, the vault is then locked at certain times of the day, thus safe guarding the possession. A vault is similar in nature to a very large safe and is typically made of impenetrable materials.

Banks also serve several other functions like the lending of money to their clients. One can acquire a mortgage from a bank, which is essentially the lending of money to a trustworthy individual to fund the purchase of a home, or other place of residence. In return, the bank will charge interest on the loan, so that the transaction is profitable for them as well. There are several different types of mortgages available. One should consult their local bank official to decide the one that suits their needs best.
