Information on dry and wet cell batteries can be found under this Yellow™ heading. A dry cell battery is one that cannot be recharged. The battery itself contains electrolytes that sit in a paste not a liquid. A rechargeable or wet cell battery is one where the electrolytes sit in a liquid. This allows the battery to be recharged a certain amount of times, thus extending the battery’s life.
Dry cell batteries are generally those used in common household devices. For example, most C, D, 9 Volt, etc. batteries are dry cell batteries. A wet cell battery is one generally found in cars. The wet cell allows for the battery to be easily recharged.
Rechargeable batteries are used in a variety of tools, of which you might use on a daily basis. For example, the computer you’re on at this moment utilises a rechargeable battery. Another example could be a cell phone, which most of us also use on a daily basis. Rechargeable batteries help to save money, as well as the environment, buy recycling the battery, and using it again.
