For information on battery charging equipment look under this Yellow™ heading. Battery charging equipment uses electricity to aid in the recharging of a battery. Not all batteries allow for recharging, as this is dependent on the batteries’ chemical makeup. Batteries can come in a variety of shapes and sizes, depending on one’s usage for it (i.e. car, cell phone, etc.). Battery chargers allow the user to effectively recharge certain types of batteries, eliminating the need to purchase new batteries. In most cases, the battery will only allow a certain amount of charges before it will have to be replaced. Battery chargers work by providing an output of electrons in the opposite direction of the output that occurs from the battery during use (i.e. the “flow” is reversed). Battery charging equipment can come in a variety of forms, depending on which type of battery one is using. Cell phones, for example, use a simple plug-in cord that charges the phone’s battery in a matter of hours. A car batter charger might be a bit more complex than that of a cell phone batter charger, in that the unit itself is bigger, and generally must remain on for longer periods of time.
