Information on biomedical engineering can be found under this Yellow™ heading. A biomedical engineer is an engineer who employs the use of engineering in the medical field. A biomedical engineer would be responsible for several different things such as the engineering of synthetic products such as synthetic skin, synthetic kidneys, etc. A bioengineer is an individual who employs engineering techniques into products or services that are directly related to the medical field. A biomedical engineer might be responsible for creating a newer and better type of MRI machine, or perhaps improving an x-ray machine model. An engineer, in general, is an individual who creates products using science, specific measurements, and other knowledge that they’ve acquired to ensure that a product is literally no less than perfect. For example, a bridge engineer might be responsible for calculating exactly how many threads of steel wire it would require to ensure that a suspension bridge would be able to support its required weight. In the medical field, the engineer’s capabilities are no different in the aforementioned manner, but are specific to medical equipment.
