Cartridges--Toner & Ink

About the Cartridges-Toner & Ink heading in Yellow™

You will find contact information about toner and ink cartridge suppliers under this Yellow™ heading. An ink cartridge is a small container that is filled with concentrated ink and placed inside a printer. A toner is similar to an ink cartridge in its purpose but is structured a bit differently. Toners consist of a larger cartridge that is filled with powder. Heat transfers a pre-determined image onto a sheet of paper thus producing the image. Ink cartridges are common in computer printers but are also found in copying machines. The concentrated ink is applied to the sheet thus producing an image. Ink cartridges sometimes contain only one colour, although most older-style printers take only two cartridges – black, and colour. Colour cartridges usually come in four colours (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) that can, in turn, create a variety of colours when combined in different proportions. Laser printers (which use toners) are used when printing larger amounts with a short turnaround time. You’ll also find toners in larger copying machines. Toners offer several advantages over cartridges, such as availability in a larger variety of colours and longer print life than ink cartridges.
