If you’re searching for information on firewood, then try checking out this Yellow™ heading. Firewood is a term used for pieces of wood that are used for making fires. While the purpose of the fire can range, the basic principle is the same. Firewood is commonly used in fire places, camp fires, ‘bon fires’, etc. Generally, you can purchase your firewood in sections called ‘cords’, or in other words, a cord of wood. While the price will range from location to location, a cord of wood is generally between 7-10 small log sections of wood. The wood in each piece is generally a small log which is split in sections of two or three.
With new innovations, artificial firewood is now also becoming more and more popular. Artificial firewood may contain traces of actual wood, but in actuality is made from a variety of other components. Artificial wood will commonly catch fire easier, burn longer, and burn cleaner than traditional wood. In fact, some brands only require one artificial log for a fire that may last for a few hours, whereas traditional firewood would require several logs to keep the fire going.
Firewood has many purposes, as mentioned prior. A fireplace is one such option, and is essentially a brick hole that is built into one’s home or building, which is used for heating and / or decorative purposes. The fireplace connects directly to the chimney, allowing smoke to escape quickly, reducing the chance of damage and improper smoke inhalation occurring. Campfires are very popular as well, and are essentially a term used for a larger fire that campers make, quite frankly to stay warm. For more info about firewood, visit your local Yellow™ dealers.
