If you’re searching for information on pressure gauges, you will find information under this Yellow™ heading. A pressure gauge is an instrument that is used to measure the pressure within a contained environment, whether it’s air, water, or even the blood in one’s body. Pressure gauges come in a variety of forms, each used for their own specific purpose. While the actual use may be different, the idea in essence is the same, in that the device is used as a measuring tool. An air pressure gauge, for example, measures the amount of air per square inch, per square foot, or just about any other variable that is used for measurement purposes.
One such example of a pressure gauge is a blood pressure gauge. Blood pressure gauges are used to determine the blood pressure in the human body. A pad is placed around the individuals upper arm, and is pumped full of air, thus restricting the blood flow for a brief few seconds. The air is then slowly released allowing blood to flow restrictively, while a measurement is simultaneously being taken. The air is then released completely, and another measurement is taken determining the pressure of the blood at that point.
Another example of a pressure gauge is a tire pressure gauge, which is an instrument that is used to measure the pressure of the air in your car, bicycle, or just about any other tires. A device is placed on the nozzle of the tire, and takes a measurement of the air pressure per square inch, thus notifying you if your tires require more or less air. Tire pressure and blood pressure gauges are just mere examples of types of air pressure gauges, as the instruments literally have thousands of purposes.
