Machinery--Secondhand

About the Machinery--Secondhand heading in Yellow™

Look for second-hand machinery under this Yellow™ heading.  With the continued rise in cost of purchasing brand new machines, most business owners opt to look at the second-hand market before making a choice. Buying second-hand can be advantageous on several fronts; one, they are cheaper than brand new machines; two they can be refurbished and reworked to make them function as good as new; and three, it allows businesses to be flexible with their budgets especially for start-up businesses. The second-hand machinery market, although not without its flaws, is a viable option and a welcome choice for businessmen.

Machines that can be purchased from second-hand machinery shops include common machines such as tractors, air compressors, guillotines, punch shears, fabricators, metal working machines and many other machines that can be considered heavy equipment. Heavy equipment, when bought brand new can cause quite a dent on the chequebook. Second-hand machines are a good investment for start-up businesses allowing them to earn with minimal capital outlay, and then having the option to buy newer machines in the future.

Most second-hand shops that buy and sell machinery do not sell their wares outright. To make it more attractive to the buyer, the machine is first given an overhaul and given modifications to make it work better and longer. They can totally re-engineer, re-tool, and refurbish machines and restore them to near mint condition. This gives the second-hand equipment the edge over brand new machines in terms of price to performance ratio. Buy and sell shops will also usually have second-hand automobile sales besides the machinery sales. These automobiles usually go through the same refurbishing routines as their heavy machinery counterparts, and can be expected to perform admirably even when stacked against brand new cars.
