Information on Marinas can be found under this Yellow™ heading. A Marina (singular) is a place where boats or ships can refuel, stock up on goods or replenish on supplies and get repairs done, at minor ones. Marina is an Italian word feminine for seacoast, usually associated with safety and provisions. Just we would think of a mother especially the Italian ones: Safety and Food. Gone are the marinas of before, they were dirty, smelly and full of drunken sailors. Today, the Marinas offer a package of opulence, a way of living or an excuse to relax. A boat owner or a person who just wants to relax with a day beside the sea then a marina is a place for you. An industry that supports the economy by providing world class property developments as well as resort management. Marinas today are not just a place to moor (boating term which means park... ergo like the car?) your boat, it is the place to stay. They offer refuelling facilities, spa, shopping, entertainment. Some of them present themselves as resort with easy access for adventurous trips! They offer Dock assistance boat detailing, boat insurance. Hotels are located with in the area just in case you to stay in another place aside from your boat.
In the year 2000 A Marina Industries Association of Australia was created to protect and develop the needs of Marina operators, owners and managers. It seeks to help the Marina Industries of berthing, mooring, storage of facilities connected to the industry. Setting regulations on marine life thus ensuring the survival of the industry.
