Information on Perforating and Perforated materials can be found under this Yellow™ heading. Perforation is a hole made on an objects surface by various methods. Perforating is the method by which perforation of a metal, paper, plastic, leather is done. Metal sheets can be punched by using various perforating methods which can range from lasers, needles, and other popular methods. Metal perforating is most commonly seen in metal meshes. Perforating on paper is commonly seen in bindings of books, notepads, reference pads, booklets, legal pads, on stamps as a perforated lining so that it is easier to tear them off, and also on film rolls so that they can be stored easily.
Perforation is a method by which holes on the surface of a material are made and are commonly used in various types of industries. Perforated materials made of plastic can be seen on tamper proof caps of bottles. When bottle caps are twisted the perforated seal of caps is ripped off and this ensures that the product can never be sealed again.
Perforated materials are used in variety of applications in our day to day life as filters in Air conditioners as air filters, in water filters for reverse osmosis and basic filtering and used in washing machines for assisting in drying of clothes. Material surface can also be given architectural and design benefits with the help of perforated materials. Holes of many shapes and sizes including hexagonal, square, circular shapes are possible. Perforated materials are used in many professional fields such as aerospace (sound proofing and heat dissipation), petrochemical industry (liquid control), Telecommunication (Electro Magnetic Interface/Radio Frequency Interface shielding) and Appliances (displays).
