Locks & Locksmiths
Locksmiths are businesses and individuals who specialise in the sale of locks and the making lock systems and replacement locks. Locksmiths also provide “break in” services in the event of lost keys or lock failure, and there are a number of locksmiths that provide a 24-hour service in the event of lost or stolen keys; however a premium is often charged for assistance outside business hours.
There is a wide variety of lock options available, including combination locks, digital locks and deadlocks, as well as well standard lock options such as the padlock, latch lock and door lock. Locksmiths are generally equipped with skills and knowledge to advise on the best lock system for individual and company needs, and are likely to be able to install locks on windows, safes, vaults and windows.
Most properties require a locking system of some sort whether it is a residential property, commercial property or industrial property, and lock systems are often teamed with surveillance systems and teams to ensure maximum protection. Locks are made in a variety of materials including brass, stainless steel and some of the more well-known lock brands include Whitco, Illco, Unican, API and Efco.
