About East Coast Mobile Safety Certificates

Roadworthy & Safety Certificate Services to your door.
We provide Safety Certificates, Roadworthy Certificates and Pre Purchase Inspections to our customers from a wide range of locations around South East Queensland.

About Us:

ECMSC began with one man, a van and a mobile phone. In 2002, Steve noticed a fault in the safety certificate market, as convenience translated into good service and the world became mobile, technologically and professionally.

Pre-Purchase Inspections:

Leasing a cosy workshop on the Gold Coast, Steve developed a multi-tiered service, driven by providing fast and accredited certifications to QLD vehicle owners. Customers recognised ECMSC as an immediate industry pioneer; within a year, demand enabled Steve to expand his fleet to three fully equipped mobile units and hire additional staff to extend geographical reach. Currently, ECMSC operate out of two locations, employ seven mechanics and continue to expand rapidly.

Buying a bike? Selling a car? Transferring a truck or caravan? We have you covered.

ECMSC mechanics are fully qualified, licensed, and Queensland Transport approved! Our inspectors offer an unbeatable standard service, providing certifications for:

  • Cars
  • Utes
  • 4WD's
  • Motorbikes
  • Trucks
  • Trailers
  • Horse floats
  • Caravans

We pride ourselves on our efficiency. Because your time is important to us, a safety certificate inspection takes approximately 40-45 minutes, at your place, on your terms.

  • If my car requires mechanical work, can you do it for me?

Sorry, but no. We don't offer any type of mechanical repairs. This actually works in your favor; we are in no way inclined to fail your vehicle in order to get more work! We are thorough and professional, and working on your side!

  • How long does it take to do a Safety Certificate?

Please allow 40-50 minutes for a Safety Certificate. This includes a thorough check over the vehicle and at completion a written report.

  • What happens if my car fails the first inspection?

Our qualified mechanics will provide a detailed note of any items that need to be rectified. You then have fourteen days to have us come out for a re-inspection.

  • How long is a Safety Certificate valid for?

For private use, a Safety Certificate is valid for two months or 2000 kms, whichever is the sooner. For dealers, a Safety Certificate is valid for 3 months or 1000 kms, whichever is the sooner. When do I need a Safety Certificate? A Safety Certificate is required for transferring of registration. If you are selling a car you need the Safety Certificate to produce in your car window before the car is advertised for sale, otherwise significant fines could apply.

  • I have a trailer/caravan, do I need a Safety Certificate?

If your trailer/caravan is over 750kg then you are required to obtain a Safety Certificate. Simply look on your registration papers for the weight! If the trailer/caravan is under 750kg, simply pop into your local Queensland Transport branch and complete a Self Assessment.
