Six days ago I booked a cab for 9.30am Thursday 26th March with Yarra Valley Taxis. This was to take me to the hospital at Ringwood, to keep an appointment with a surgeon. At 9.45 I rang to see why they were late - lots of excuses from them. I said I was priority because I booked 6 days ago. Everyone thinks they are priority I was told. I spent the next hour and three-quarters on the phone to the hospital (to see if they would still see me) and to Yarra Valley Taxis. At 11.05 the latter said there was a cab in my area and would be with me in five minutes. I rang, yet again the hospital, to see if they would still see me, yes, was the answer, so long as I was there by noon. This cab never arrived after 10 minutes so made the decision to cancel the surgeon's appointment and re-sheduled. Also rang this dreadful taxi service and cancelled the non-existant cab. Half an hour later a taxi turned up from a completely different company. They had not even bothered to cancel him after getting him to take over 'the fare'. I am a woman of 76, live alone, and should not be subjected to this stress caused by inefficiency. They are now off my books, and they stink.
