We are confident that you will notice the difference in our approach to detail, clinical excellence and patient service.
Every day we see patients frustrated by pain in their lower limbs and feet. The good news is that you don't have to suffer in silence because we can help you. Our practitioners take pride in their ability to improve your quality of life.

Our podiatrists are university qualified health professionals who are trained to diagnose and treat medical conditions of the feet and lower limbs. We believe that foot care is an important part of your general health and well being. This is why we offer a broad range of preventative and restorative podiatric services.

The Sandringham Foot Clinic is a privately owned facility which has been caring for the feet of Melbournians since 1995. Our reputation is built on our successful treatment of patients, which is supported by ongoing professional referrals and word of mouth.

Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?

No. Anyone can visit a podiatrist although many of our patients have been referred by their general practitioner, physiotherapist, osteopath, chiropractor or other allied health care practitioner. However, if your general practitioner has registered you under the Medicare Plus Programme you will need a referral. See our information under Medicare.

Do private health funds cover podiatry?

Yes, all major Australian health funds cover podiatry if you have the relevant extras cover. It is important to check your level of cover to determine your rebate. We are able to process your claims on the spot at our clinic through our HICAPS system.

Who wears Orthotics?

People of all ages with a variety of problems of the feet or lower leg wear orthotics. Sports people are often prescribed orthotics by their podiatrist to correct their gait pattern, to help maximize their performance and to help their recovery from injury. Anyone suffering from chronic foot pain such as Plantar Fasciitis or a lower limb condition which is limiting their mobility or independence, may benefit from wearing orthotics.

Is it important to have my child's feet assessed?

Yes, especially if your child trips over a lot, complains of sore feet, knee pain or leg pain after sport, or complains that their shoes hurt. These are all signs that something is not right and the child should be professionally assessed by a podiatrist before the problem becomes worse. See our information sheet about Children's feet.

Will you confirm my appointment?

You will receive either a phone call the day before your appointment or an sms message. At both the Brunswick and Sandringham Foot Clinics we confirm our appointments so if we leave a message on your phone please call us back to confirm your appointment. Similarly, when you receive our sms reminder, please reply yes to confirm your appointment.

How much will my consultation cost?

Fees vary depending on the type of consultation that is required for your needs. Fees also vary between practitioners reflecting their experience. Initial consultations always cost more than follow up consultations. It is best to contact our clinic nearest to you for more information.

Is podiatry treatment covered by Medicare?

At both the Brunswick and Sandringham Foot Clinics we utilise Medicare online which means if you have a registered EPC plan from your doctor, we can submit your claim directly to Medicare on the day of your treatment. You will only need to pay a small terilisation/administration fee at your visit. The Medicare Plus Programme allows up to 5 visit per calendar year.

Do you have HICAPS?

Yes, so if you have private health cover with extras and you are covered for podiatry, we can swipe your health fund card on the same day of treatment to claim your rebate and you will only pay the gap fee. Rebates will vary according to the level of cover you have.

Do you have after hour's appointments?

The Brunswick Foot Clinic is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm and the Sandringham Foot Clinic is open Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5pm to 8pm; Wednesday mornings from 7.30am to 11am and Saturdays from 7.30am to 2pm. Many of our patients from the Brunswick area find it more convenient to attend our Sandringham clinic on Saturdays, particularly for long appointments such as nail surgeries and when being cast for orthotics.

Should I bring my medical history with me?

If you have recent x-rays or ultrasound results of a foot or lower leg injuries then bring these to your appointment. If you already have orthotics you should bring these with you and the shoes that you usually wear so that our podiatrist can check them.
