  • How long after my high-risk course will I receive my worksafe license card?

Please allow 6-8 weeks. This will come out to your personal address. If after 6-8 weeks you still haven't received your card please contact worksafe licensing directly on 1300 307 877 to chase it.

  • Is the blue/white card a pre-requisite to complete training?

It is only a pre-requisite to hold a blue/white card for the traffic management & traffic control courses we offer (including refreshers). You can complete your online white card via our web site prior to attending for your course if required.

  • What is the worksafe application fee for?

If you complete a high-risk course with us, a worksafe application form & fee will need to be sent off to worksafe for this. In return you will receive a high-risk license card with your qualification/s on it. This is mandatory for all high-risk courses.

  • Can I still use my blue card, or do I have to upgrade to the new white card?

Yes you can continue to use it. Both blue and white cards are accepted as by the regulatory authority as evidence that induction training has been completed. Blue cards have now been given no expiry date, and white cards expire 3 years from the issue date stated on the card. The only instance an employer may not accept a blue card is if it is a site-specific requirement to hold a white card (as it is more current).

  • Are your qualifications nationally accredited?

Yes! All of our qualifications are nationally accredited and approved by the training accreditation council of WA.

  • What are the high-risk courses Down to Earth offer?

High-risk courses we offer include dogging, rigging (basic through to advanced), scaffolding (basic through to advanced), forklift, elevated work platform and crane courses.

  • How long after my course will I receive my certification?

As soon as the invoice is paid for. Certification will be sent out to the person who organised/paid for the training.

  • What are the earning prospects of DTE welding Graduates?

Welding is currently listed on the national skills need list. With the recent mining and construction boom welding has become one of the highest paid and sought after trades in Australia. DTE graduates could expect to earn triple figure income on offshore projects and have their investment paid off within the first month of working as a coded welder.

  • Will my welding qualification be nationally/internationally recognised?

DTE welding qualifications are recognised world wide by the mining, construction, oil & gas, marine and offshore industry to name a few. All Training provided by DTE follows strict guidelines of MEM05 Metal & Engineering Training, endorsed by the Training Accreditation Council of Western Australia. Once you have successfully completed the units of competency and passed the CODING exams your qualification is internationally recognised.

  • How long will it take me to become a coded welder?

The duration is dependent on your previous qualifications, skills and ability to learn. The experienced Welders may take as little as a week to pass the coding tests. As a general rule, a complete begginer will require 4 to 6 weeks of training to reach a coding standard.
