  • What is Efflorescence?

Efflorescence is a white deposit which may appear on any concrete or masonry product. It does not affect structural integrity and will dissipate over time. Efflorescence is a temporary condition where salts migrate via evaporation to the surface of the paver. Efflorescence may be temporarily removed by stiff brushing.

  • Why should I seal my pavers?

To protect your finished project and to allow easy cleaning it is recommended that your pavers be sealed. In particular paving in coastal areas or harsh environments. The application of a sealer will protect your investment and maintain the pavement's appearance.

  • Do you have seconds stock available?

Yes, Brikmakers from time to time have some seconds stock available which might be slightly chipped or differ slightly from the standard colour. Contact Brikmakers for more information.

  • Why do I need jointing sand?

Jointing sand or white finishing sand is needed to fill the gaps between the pavers once they have been laid, and will give you a professional finish. Brikmakers do not recommend yellow sand for jointing as staining can occur on the surface of the pavers.

  • Will the colour of my pavers be consistent?

The colour of all concrete varies to some degree because of many things including raw material differences, weather changes and the cement hydration process. These small variations can occur between the different batches. Brikmakers recommend you receive delivery of all your pavers at the same time to avoid possible batch colour variations.
