      Hemco Industries was founded in the early 1950's with the idea of designing automotive occupant restraints for a market that had little appreciation of the strong forces involved in vehicle collisions. Since the early 1970's the business has made its home in Ballarat, Australia, and has grown to become the premier seatbelt manufacturer in the country.

Since the early 1970's the business has made its home in Ballarat, Australia and has grown and diversified to include the following businesses - Seatbelts, Warehouse & Storage, Health Equipment. Seatbelts The seatbelt division is accredited to ISO9001 Quality Management System. We manufacture and design child restraints (AS1754), special needs restraints, and seatbelts for many applications including automotive (AS2596), industrial (ISO6683), wheelchair (AS2492) and mining. Warehouse The Warehousing / Transport division operates a large warehousing facility in Ballarat, looking after clients’ of any size for any duration. Storage environments and transport requirements are tailored to suit the clients’ needs. Storage environments are tailored to suit clients’ needs. Current storage environments include - Food grade. Blast freezers (-30C degrees). Freezers (-18C degrees). Chillers (+4C degrees). Chillers (+6C degrees). Ambient. 24 hours, 7-day service. Stable environment (+18C degrees). Stable environment (+25C degrees). Warm room (+35C degrees). Hot room (+55C degrees). Humidity controlled. Outside storage. Storage The Health and Safety division designs and manufactures various high quality and affordable pieces of equipment for the health care industry. These products are used to assist in such things as back, joint and limb support, patient movement and hospital evacuation. Transport Hemco runs a small fleet of vehicles that service the Ballarat area. These range from one-tonne utilities to twenty-tonne semi-trailers. These include pan-tech, taut-liner and tray bodies. There are also chiller trucks available for heat sensitive goods. For transport outside Ballarat, Hemco can organise subcontractors to pick up or deliver anywhere in Australia. Hemco is a registered Loscam pallet depot for dehire/issues, and is located close to the Ballarat Chep depot. Pallets can be freely exchanged.

      Custom webbing colours are available. Coloured webbing samples are available upon request. Available on new seat belts and re-webs. Seat belts meet ADR Certification or AS/NZS 2596.RE-WEBBING - from $90 + GST. We offer a re-webbing service for most makes and models. We remove the old webbing and replace it with new automotive certified webbing in the closest colour to match.
