Make sure that the bathroom windows are consistent with the architectural style of the building. And if you’re retrofitting, don’t place them where direct sunlight will reflect off your mirror. Lighting

When designing the placement of light fittings in your bathroom, make sure that there is plenty of light in work areas, such as your vanity mirror. Aim for at least two lights by the mirror to reduce the shadows on the face –  placing them on the wall is better than on the ceiling.

Opt for lights that fall within the natural spectrum, such as warm white, rather than fluorescent – they are better at reflecting your natural skin tone.

If your bathroom is small, these vanity lights might be enough to light the room. In in a larger space, you’ll also need some ambient ceiling light. For an extra touch of luxury, add a dimmer switch so you have a range of options – great for a little low light for a late night soak in the tub.
