Buying a new car can be an exciting experience, but it can also be tricky and challenging. So it’s always a good idea to be fully prepared when approaching the purchase of a new car. And that means knowing how to negotiate the price you will pay.
It’s not rude to negotiate the price of a new car with a car dealer; in fact, it’s expected, and part of the game, and the best way to negotiate is by doing your homework first. If you have a particular car in mind, find out as much about it before you head in to buy the vehicle. Research it on the Internet, ask friends, and visit a number of car yards to investigate prices, features and availability.
Have a set budget, and don’t pay more than you can afford to, or are willing to. It can be easy to be swayed by canny car sales people, but stick to your original price. Remain, confident, relaxed and above all, casual. Don’t appear desperate to buy a car, the dealer will take advantage of that. There are plenty of cars for sale; you don’t have to buy the first one you look at. Car dealers are there to make a sale, but make sure it’s a purchase you want to make.
