Royal Melbourne Golf Club
The stunning West course, designed in 1926 by the renowned Dr Alistair MacKenzie, is one of the finest golf courses in the world. The combination of fertile sandy soil, fabulous design and natural rugged appearance makes it easily the best in Australia. For 100 years the Royal Melbourne Golf Club has been Australia’s premier golf club, hosting the President’s Cup in 2011.
Access to the Royal Melbourne is restricted to members and guests of members only and there is a strict dress code.
Kingston Heath Golf Club
Another gorgeous spot in the "sandbelt" south-east of Melbourne, the Kingston Heath Golf Club was established in 1909 and has hosted seven Australian Opens and one Women’s Open. With its gently undulating couch fairways and classic, natural bunkering, the Kingston Heath rates as Australia’s 2nd finest golf course.
This is a private club, and access is limited to members and invited guests only. There is a strict dress code.
Barnbougle Dunes Golf Links
With wild winds gusting over pristine coastal dunes, Tasmania’s Barnbougle boasts two stunning courses for golfers looking for an exhilarating getaway. Designed to emulate the natural courses of Scotland, Barnbougle has been carved from the natural contours of the land and is home to a variety of native flora and fauna. At an hours’ drive from Launceston, the 18-hole course suits all abilities and offers coaching.
New South Wales Golf Club
Spectacularly sited on the rugged cliffs at La Perouse, overlooking Botany Bay, the New South Wales Golf Club was designed by Alistair MacKenzie in 1926. Set among scrub-covered sand dunes and valleys that sweep down to the Pacific Ocean, this spectacular wind-swept links-style course has hosted a number of major championships including the Australian Open and the PGA Championship.

The National Golf Club
With three 18-hole courses at Cape Schanck on the Mornington Peninsula coast, the National Golf Club boasts some of the finest golfing in Australia. Designed in 1988, the Old course boasts spectacular ocean views, while the Greg Norman-designed Moonah is a links-style course that debuted in the top-10 golf courses in Australia. Nestled among the sand dunes, the Ocean course is based on the great links style courses of Scotland.
The National is a private golf course and access is restricted to members and their guests.
