      We are highly qualified and skilled specialist orthodontist who gives great attention to the needs of patients of all ages.

      Family Care Orthodontists have been a part of the local community for almost fifty years. Located in Spring Street in Chatswood opposite the Westfield shopping centre entrance, it is easy to find and close to schools, trains, buses, parking stations and shops.

      John Coolican and Derek Allan are highly qualified and skilled specialist orthodontists who give great attention to the needs of patients of all ages in an individual, friendly and inclusive way. They give each patient their personal care and attention at every visit. Both see it as important to keep abreast of the latest developments in orthodontic techniques and appliances.

      We provide a wide range of orthodontic services including but not limited to:Braces (metal and aesthetic) Expanders Plates Retainers Elastics Invisalign alignersWe believe everybody deserves a beautiful smile and that everybody will receive our personal attention and care. We aim to provide the very best in orthodontic care and for treatment provided to be as comfortable as possible.

      Derek grew up in Chatswood. He attended St Aloysius' College and then completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Sydney with Honours in 2003, having been awarded a Distinguished Undergraduate Scholarship. For three years he worked as a general dentist in Tamworth. He values the experience he gained while contributing his dental expertise in Nepal, Vanuatu, Walgett and Alice Springs. Through volunteering he has enjoyed assisting people from all walks of life.
