      At Mitchell Batteries Bathurst we strive for exceptional service and quality repairs.

      We commenced operating in April 1969, manufacturing lead acid batteries for automotive vehicles, home lighting and stand by systems. Although in the late 1980's imported batteries flooded the Australian market and local manufacturing became uneconomical, Mitchell Batteries Bathurst remains to offer excellent service which now includes auto electrical and the sale of boats and motors.

      Mitchell Batteries Bathurst is a locally owned and operated business that specialises in the supply and installation of batteries and auto electrical services for all vehicle makes and models. Established in 1969, we are well known throughout NSW Central West for our friendly customer service and reliability. If you can not come to us, we can come to you with our mobile fleet for customers experiencing a flat battery or after-hours battery assistance or replacement.

      We supply batteries for cars, trucks, tractors, caravans, home lighting, solar and various deep cycle applications. We can test and replace your battery anytime, anywhere, with our 24 hour mobile service or at our workshop in Havannah Street.

      What sort of warranty does the battery carry?

      1-3 years depending on the type and brand of battery. We will replace any batteries within the warranty period.


      What if I need a battery after-hours?

      Just ring our after hours number, and we will come to you, or organise to meet at the workshop.


      Does it cost extra to have my battery fitted for me?

      There is no extra cost for fitting your battery, as it is part of our service. Your current battery will be tested to determine if there may be any other problem before a new one is fitted.


      How do I pay for a call-out?

      Usually there is no callout fee. Payment for the battery is by cash, cheque or EFTPOS on the day.


      What if my battery is flat and I cannot get it to Mitchell Batteries Bathurst workshop?

      We will come to you. Ring - let us know where you are, type, year and model of car. We will give you an approximate time and cost of replacement battery. If you are capable of fitting the battery yourself, just bring the old one in.


      Do you carry batteries for solar systems?

      Yes, and we can help to fully design a system to suit your individual needs.


      Do you carry batteries for all types of vehicles?

      Yes, if it is a particularly unusual battery, we can usually get it in overnight.


      Do you fit batteries to caravans and motor homes?

      Yes, the resident auto electrician can also run extra wiring if required.


      Do you provide discounts?

      Yes, we provide discounts for seniors, students and approved large account holders.


      Do I need to book my car in to have a battery tested or replaced?

      You do not need an appointment, just drop in and we will fit it there and then, while you wait. You are welcome to leave it, and collect later. Large systems or trucks would be advised to let us know you are coming to avoid any extra waiting time.
