      Darius is always happy to take time to listen to what you want. He will ensure that you are fully informed throughout the denture making process and is always willing to answer any questions you might have. Not only do we think you'll be happy with your new teeth - but we also guarantee it!

      If you are not sure about your current dentures - whether it's because they are more than 5 years old or because they are not fitting properly, come in and speak with Darius free of charge. He will spend as much time as necessary to talk to you through all your options.

      Darius Northey has 18 years' experience as a dental prosthetist. His father and brother are dental prosthetists, and his other brother is a dental technician - you could say that he has grown up in the industry! Justin Thompson also has 18 years' experience as a dental technician. Justin and Darius have both lived on the Sunshine Coast for over 10 years.

      Will I be able to speak clearly?

      At first it may be difficult to speak clearly but this will improve rapidly. It's best to practice speaking words out loud that are hard to pronounce.


      How long should I wear the dentures for?

      Darius will discuss your individual needs with you. Often you will need to wear the dentures all the time to begin with to work out if any adjustments are needed. After the adjustments you usually take the dentures out before you go to bed and put them in again the next morning.


      Will it be difficult to eat?

      Initially it may be difficult to eat, as your mouth is still getting used to the feel of the denture and your muscles take time to adjust. Over a short period of time, it should become easier once you are used to the dentures. Start with soft foods and make sure to chew evenly on each side. Avoid hard and sticky foods for example, lollies & toffees and chewing gum.


      Are there different types of dentures? How will I know which ones I need?

      There are two types of dentures - removable partial dentures and full dentures. Darius will consult with you to determine which ones will work best for you A removable partial denture attaches to your natural teeth with metal clasps or precision attachments. This means you may be able to keep some teeth. A complete denture can be either "conventional" or "immediate".


      How long will it take me to get used to wearing dentures?

      Your dentures may feel uncomfortable for the first few weeks while you get used to them. Practice taking them in and out to help get used to them and never force them in to place as you could bend or break the clasps.
