What is a Restricted Key System?
A Restricted Key System allows the end user to monitor all keys. Once you install a restricted system only a person listed as an authorised signatory can have keys cut.
Can you make all my locks operate with the one key?
Absolutely! Different lock manufacturers have different key profiles, so some locks may need to be changed completely so they are all the same brand, where others may simply be re-keyed.
Have you just moved in?
Do you really know who has a key to your home? Previous owners, tenants, family & friends often keep the keys - you'd be surprised how often properties are broken into after new owners have moved in. It's something that shouldn't wait - you can get the locks rekeyed at minimum cost. Lost or stolen keys, don't panic! It happens all the time! We offer a simple & inexpensive solution. We can supply you with new keys & ensure that the keys that have been lost or stolen will not work again.
My key does not insert or withdraw easily & it has difficulty turning. What should I do?
First spray the lock with light penetrating oil (such as WD-40). This oil can be found at most hardware stores. Don't be afraid to spray too much, but have a paper towel handy to pick up the excess. Spray the oil into the keyhole & onto the bolt mechanism. Move the bolt in & out to allow the oil to penetrate into the lock. Do not take the lock apart if you are not confident that you can put it back together. Failing all this - call us & we'll get that fixed!
What is Master Keying?
Master Keys can override a series of different keys. Whilst you may have different keys for different locks, a Master Key will work with all locks in your building.
I'm locked out of my house. Do you damage the lock to get me back in?
Not at all! We use specialist locksmith equipment to gain entry to your home with no damage caused to the lock. In fact, as we lubricate the lock to pick it, you might find your lock working better than before we came out.
I've been broken into & a set of house keys have been taken. How do you change my keys?
Simple Solution! By re-keying your existing locks, this means that you keep the same locks but we have changed the parts inside to suit a new key. This is a much cheaper way to ensure your old keys no longer work as some common locks can cost as much as $300. Locks are designed to have this done to them so don't worry, we're not affecting the quality of your locks.
