Nick, the primary owner and operator of Full Cycle Organics, grew up on the land and has always had a passion for recycling and turning waste into a resource. He sees the value in recycling what it does for the land and environment. Many people are familiar with the term “Paddock to Plate” where they follow the path of their food. This is where we close the cycle of this process and take it from Plate to Paddock, now creating the Full Cycle.
Did you know that it’s estimated that around 7.5m tonnes of food is wasted in the municipal, commercial and industrial waste streams every year. Full Cycle Organics is on a mission to re-purpose this from these waste streams and back to the earth. In closing the loop between food consumption and production. Food scraps, instead of being taken to landfill, are returned to the soil. (Plate to Paddock) with this process we assist to help reduce Australia's greenhouse gas emissions. When food scraps are taken to landfill, the green cycle is broken. Our team counteracts this problem by collecting discarded food from commercial producers (restaurants, bakeries, cafes & greengrocers) as well as stable manure every day. We return these unwanted food & scraps to farmers and ultimately the soil where it is turned it into a useful, nutrient-rich fertiliser to keep the green cycle in motion.
