What is a Fetal Doppler?

A Fetal Doppler is one type of fetal monitoring. The fetal heart doppler is a non-invasive diagnostic instrument used to detect and measure the fetal heart rate. A fetal heart doppler measures the fetal heart rate by emitting and receiving continuous ultrasonic sound waves and emitting the change or shift in pitch frequency of these sound waves. This is called the Doppler Effect and was discovered by Austrian mathematician and physicist, Christian Doppler (1803-53).

Do you have after hour's services?

For afterhours care please phone The National after hours GP helpline on 1800 022 222 for free assistance from a registered nurse or medical advice from a GP if you need it. If you are advised to see a doctor the Friendlies after hours at the Friendlies Hospital, Bingera Street, phone 43311777 is open to 11pm every night. After 11pm the acute care clinic at the Bundaberg Base Hospital is open.

What is spirometry?

Spirometry (meaning the measuring of breath) is the most common of the pulmonary function tests (PFTs), measuring lung function, specifically the amount (volume) and/or speed (flow) of air that can be inhaled and exhaled. Spirometry is an important tool used for generating pneumotachographs, which are helpful in assessing conditions such as asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis, and COPD.

What is Arterial Doppler?

The Arterial Doppler test is a blood pressure test for the arteries in your legs. It's usually ordered to see if there is a lack of blood flow through your legs, which may be caused by a blockage in your arteries. The blockage may be a result of plaque or cholesterol that has built up in the arterial wall.

What is disability facility?

This practice is designed for wheelchair access. We have a wheelchair available if required. Should you have special needs please discuss them with your doctor. There is a disabled car park next to the rear ramp access.

What is your billing process?

We are a private billing practice with Medicare online claim back facilities for your convenience. However we do bulk bill immunisations (children and pensioners) and all sick children seen in the quick clinics.

Do you offer routine appointments?

We offer an appointment system with the doctor of your choice. Appointments are at 15 minute intervals. If you have either multiple problems or a complex problem please book a double appointment. As we reserve some appointment times so acutely unwell patients can be seen same day, we spread our routine appointments over several days. Routine appointment with the doctor of your choice may not be same day.

Are you accredited?

Yes, our practice undergoes three yearly external accreditation audits to ensure RACGP standards are met.

Do you have new patient application form?

Yes, you can view in this link "http://www.apmc.net.au/new-patients.html". For more details you can contact us.

Is there any option for a home visit?

Yes, your request will be taken by reception and the staff will phone you back as soon as possible after they speak to the doctor.
