What kind of injectables do you do?

Dr Gibbins has been trained by the Australasian Academy of Dento Facial Aesthetics. We have a wide range of treatments available, including therapeutic treatment of migraines and TMJ problems. No-one knows more about the relationship between your face, facial muscles and your teeth and gums than an AADFA trained Dental Surgeon.

What is involved in a clean?

Our cleans are far more thorough than most other dental surgeries, and also take up to 1 hour. If we have not seen you before it is difficult to know if your cleaning needs may be a little more complex. When you see our hygienist for the first time they will determine your needs and advise you as to any treatment you may require.

Are your dentists gentle? I’m very nervous!

Our dentists at Future Dental - Cosmetic Dentistry pride themselves on being gentle and friendly. We always allow enough time to ensure that we are not rushed and you are comfortable during your entire visit. We believe dentistry should be pain free and rewarding.

What is involved in an examination?

Our examinations do take up to 1 hour. This includes having an Oral Cancer check, assessment of your teeth gums, soft tissues and jaw muscles. The dentist will provide advice on any of your concerns. We will then be able to provide an appropriate treatment plan tailored to your needs and budget.

Are your dentists good with children?

Our oral health therapists are fantastic with children, they are very calm and gentle. They will take their time and make your child’s dental experience a good one as we know their experiences now will determine the relationship with their dentist for years to come.

How soon can I be seen?

We can generally offer you an appointment on the same day if you have a genuine emergency. We can also put you on our standby list and if we have a change in schedule we will call to offer you an earlier appointment.

Are you a preferred provider?

We have chosen not to be affiliated with any health funds as we do not agree with the restrictions they impose on their preferred providers practice. Health funds dictate what patients can and cannot have done irrespective of what is in their best interests. To perform dentistry to the excellent standard that we find to be acceptable, we have chosen to stand out from the rest. We will still claim your rebate for you through our HICAPS machine and you just pay the GAP.

Do you do crowns and veneers?

We offer several different types of crowns here: E4D crowns, which are fabricated in surgery within several hours, or if necessary a lab made crown/veneer. The reason for needing a crown/veneer varies and is unique to each situation. If you’re not sure which crown would suit your situation best, one of our dentists would be able to provide information and advice to help you decide.

Do you do implants?

We work in conjunction with the local Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon in Cairns. We will organise your referral to see the surgeon to organise dental implant placement for you. We will then complete the restoration of the implant (with a crown) at Future Dental - Cosmetic Dentistry.

Do you accept the Medicare Child dental benefit scheme?

Yes, we will happily check if you are eligible and will claim your rebate for you. We do not bulk bill therefore we ask you to pay the account up front and we will process your claim. Your rebate will be paid directly to your bank account to prevent you needing to go to the Medicare office. (There may be an out of pocket expense.)
