What sort of machinery do you use?

Academy Sheetmetal has several brake presses of various sizes to fold up to 6mm plates, with a corresponding capacity guillotine to accurately cut the plate and sheet. For thicker materials, we use lubricated cold saws and drills.

What sort of materials do you carry for flashings?

At Academy Sheetmetal, premises in Cardiff, we carry all standard colourbond .55 flashing feed, .55 and .75 zincalume, .8 aluminium and .55 and .9 gal on coil. We keep stock of 1.2 gal on coil and can cut up to 3mtrs in this product. In the heavy fabrication are we keep a range of sheets including 2.4 and 1.9 gal, 2mm and 1.5 zinc anneal and 1.2, 1.6, 2mm and 3mm mild steel (black).

What is the maximum length flashing I can get?

At Academy Sheetmetal, we can fold your flashings up to 8mtrs long. The coil feed is a standard 1200mm wide.

What services do you offer?

At Academy Sheetmetal, we fabricate custom and standard brackets for all types of sheds using our advanced AMADA laser cutter with the latest Japanese technology. We cut components for various types of complicated and simple brackets. Hand-held plasma cutters can also be used.

Do you roll your own roofing sheet?

At academy sheet metal we don't manufacture our own roof sheet products. Instead, we work with all the major suppliers in the local area to ensure quality service and pricing on all roofing products. We can supply all types of roof sheet, gutter and fascia from all major suppliers in the Newcastle area. Supplier’s product profiles are all slightly different so if you're matching to existing metal product we can advise the right product for you.

Do you deliver?

For your convenience, we can deliver sheetmetal across NSW. We regularly send vehicles to the Central Coast and Sydney to deliver products to our existing customers. We have a Hi-Ab crane fitted to some of our trucks to unload roof sheet and material.

How long to get my roofing product?

Generally your roof sheet, gutter and fascia products are available for pick up / delivery from academy sheet metal 2days from order. However, some products are manufactured in Sydney, or rolled on certain days, so extra time is required for delivery. This can generally be advised at time of order.

What do you fabricate?

We can fabricate: Custom-made doors & purlins, Shed brackets, Fire extinguisher brackets & fittings, Steel cabinets, Steel boxing Ornamental designs. Whatever metal product you require for your domestic, commercial, construction or manufacturing project, we can make it.

Do you have screws for roofing in stock?

We carry most consumables you will require for your job onsite. This includes all colourbond colours in it buildex 65mm, 50mm and 25mm roof zips, as well as 10-16x16 metal teks both with and without seal. We also stock colourbond coloured 1/8 rivets, as well as a selection of timber and metal screws. We can order any specific screws you may require with a quick turn-around time and reasonable cost.

What materials can Academy Sheetmetal cut with your laser services?

We cut mild steel, aluminium, and stainless steel from 0.55mm to 25mm thick, with high precision up to 0.1mm.

What types of projects can you handle with laser cutting?

While we primarily supply roofing materials, we do not provide installation services. We recommend working with a licensed contractor for installation.
