How long does deck restoration and deck sanding take?
Typically, a full deck restoration will take place over 2 - 3 days. The first day we will do all the initial prep work then plot to return once the deck is dry and the weather is going to be clear for the following 24 hours. If your existing coating is peeling or flaking the deck will require sanding before any oiling or staining is to take place. After the deck has been sanded, we will run with a series of chemical treatments give the deck a deep clean and brighten the timber.
How much does it cost?
We have a variety of options starting from a basic deck rejuvenation that covers high pressure cleaning, acid wash & a return visit to apply 2 coats of a water-based oil all the way through to a full deck restoration whereby we will either be sanding your decking or using stripping agents to lift any existing stain or oil from the deck if needed. How long does the decking stain or oil take to dry?
We use a high-performance water based oil that will be fine to walk on within 2 hours of us leaving - having said that we do recommend to leave all furniture of the deck for 7 days to give the deck enough time to cure nicely as this will extend the life of the protected coatings. Generally, this is a good time to invest in some protective strips to add to the bottom of all your furniture that you plan to put back on the deck.
