We are members of the International Society of Arboriculture, Arboriculture Australia, Queensland Arboricultural Association and the Tree Care Industry Association (USA). All our senior staff are tertiary qualified arborists, or are undertaking studies to gain or further their knowledge of trees and tree care. We have ISA Certified Arborists and registered users of the Quantified Tree Risk Assessment system on staff.

Are you insured?

For your peace of mind, we carry $20 million of Public Liability insurance. In addition, our consulting services are further protected with $5 million of Professional Indemnity insurance.


Are you a local business?

The Tree Doctor is a family owned, Brisbane based company, established in 1992. Business owner, Adam Tom, has over 30 years of experience in tree care.


Our tree is looking sick – can you help?

The Tree Doctor specialises in the care and maintenance of all trees, especially those which are very old or those with historical significance. The Tree Doctor has provided services for the ‘The Dig Tree’ at Cooper Creek on several occasions, as well as the trees in the grounds of both Parliament and Government House and the Brisbane City Botanical Gardens, to name but a few. We have also assisted with the identification, protection and preservation of aboriginal scar trees on many occasions.


What are your qualifications and accreditations?

All senior staff at The Tree Doctor have a minimum qualification of Diploma in Horticulture (Arboriculture) AQF Level 5. Junior staff members are qualified to AQF Level 3 or are undertaking further study. The Principal Consultant and Managing Director, Adam Tom, holds a degree and postgraduate qualifications in plant physiology and plant pathology from the University of New England. Adam Tom is Life Member of both Arboriculture Australia and Queensland Arboricultural Assn


How do you ensure safety while working on my property?

The Tree Doctor uses and maintains the comprehensive ArborSafe Workplace Health and Safety system. Under both Federal and State legislation, employers must ensure the safety of all workers and members of the public. The Tree Doctor provides safe work methodologies for all aspects of our work. A detailed Job Safety and Environmental Risk Assessment (JSEA) is undertaken before the commencement of all jobs.


Can you provide me a detailed report and survey of my property or campus?

Yes, The Tree Doctor is now a licensed user of the TreePlotter™ software, which enables us to complete large-scale tree surveys and produce customised tree inventories for clients.


Do you provide free quotes?

Yes, The Tree Doctor provides obligation-free quotes upon request. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide quotes over the phone as we need to see the tree and the site before we can provide you with a quote.


Can I pay by credit card?

Yes, we accept Visa and MasterCard (a small surcharge will apply). Invoices may also be paid by direct deposit or Cheque.


My tree is protected by a protection order / is located on a heritage-listed property – can you help?

Yes, we are able to liaise with local council and other authorities on your behalf. Many of our clients are caretakers of heritage, protected or veteran trees.


Can you assess the hazards and risks in my tree?

Yes, we can. The senior consultants at The Tree Doctor are trained in the use of both the Qualified Tree Risk Assessment System (QTRA) and the ISA designed Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ). Regular attendance at both QTRA and TRAQ workshops is required to keep these qualifications current.
