      Our award winning bakers put time and love into everything they bake.

      Since they were teenagers, Michael and Vicki had a dream to open a bakery in Middleton, where they could pursue Michael’s passion for baking and Vicki’s love of retailing, whilst raising a family. In November 1995, Heritage Pies and Pastries opened their doors and their dream became reality, continuing to serve the local community for the next 20 years.

      It was with mixed emotions that they closed the doors in Middleton for the last time in March 2016. Over the years the business grew, as did their children Kym and Skye. In 2000, Michael and Vicki bought a vacant block in the main street of Goolwa, and built a purpose built bakery, to meet the future demands of the business. This is where today, you will find the whole family working together, located at 28a Cadell Street, opposite the Church.

      Over the years, Heritage Pies and Pastries grew to having three outlets, Middleton, Goolwa and Strathalbyn, ran 6 mobile food vans, “Mick’s Pie Carts”, and employed 56 local staff. Today they have returned to doing what they do well. Being Bakers!!! With Michael and Vicki still active in the family business, Kym managing the day shift production, and Skye cake decorating, retailing, and administration, the passion continues. Over the years, we’ve earned a reputation for serving good old-fashioned products, quality and service to our customers.

      Using the freshest quality local ingredients, our award-winning bakery produces unique and delicious menu items daily. Each of our products is made with passion and love. As a valued customer, you can enjoy high-quality brands, including Griffiths Brothers Coffee and Laucke Flour, to name a few. Our bakery has the largest range of baked products in all of South Australia! There’s something for everyone at Heritage Pies and Pastries, no matter what your dietary needs.
