Quality dentistry tailored to your budget. Improving your smile makes us smile :)
We are a team of oral health professionals dedicated to the oral health of the people we treat. We aim to provide accessible dentistry in a caring environment, and welcome all ages to have a pleasant dental experience. Our services range from simple maintenance and repairs to extensive full mouth rehabilitation, including bridges, implants, cosmetic dentistry, and dentures.
Bytes Dental was established in Ballina in 2007, and now we have opened in Goonellabah. Our dentists excel in listening to what the patient wants, and then delivering the optimum treatment. Dr Kaur is a compassionate dentist with specialist training in children's dentistry. Dr Kim Davies enjoys cosmetic dentistry, and dental photography. Our practice welcomes all ages to have a pleasant dental experience. With ceiling TVs and free video games while you wait, you will surely enjoy your stay.
At Bytes Dental Goonellabah we want to deliver un-rushed quality dental care for the whole family. We provide flexible appointment times including after-hours, weekends, and emergency appointments to eliminate any difficulties accessing dental treatment. As an owner operated only clinic, we want to differentiate ourselves from other commercial clinics with our close-knit team of professionals who put patient care as top priority and will ensure efficient and cost effective treatment planning.

What about going overseas for dental work?
Although dentistry can be cheaper in counties where health and safety are not as highly regulated, the end result can end up being more expensive. If something goes wrong, it can fail catastrophically, and ending up costing more money to remedy than the original treatment would have costed. I know because I have had to remove faulty root canal treatments with hours of surgery. It was not pleasant for the patient or the dentists involved.
Do you have payment plans?
At your examination visit you will receive a treatment plan which lists the required work. This list is in order of priority. We suggest you do the top item on the list first, and when you have enough money to move on, we can go down the list one item at a time. It may not happen overnight, but with time, we hope we can help deal with all your dental requirements. Appointments can be spaced months apart to work in with your budget. We are not a bank, however.
Why is it so expensive?
Dental clinics are like mini hospitals with the same levels of sterilisation and expertise. Medicare subsidises hospital care but gives nothing to dental care. It's the system that makes it this way.
Will it hurt?
Dr Kaur is so gentle and kind; she uses numbing gel before every injection. We want every patient to be pain free and will do everything we can to minimise any discomfort. There are even TVs on the ceiling to distract you.
I hate going to the dentist!
No-one really likes going to the dentist so you are not alone. Talk to our receptionist and also your dentist about all your past traumas. Your first visit should be just a consultation so we know how to work with you through your dental fear.
Saturdays you say you are open but sometimes I get a phone message instead.
We alternate between working at Goonellabah and Ballina on Saturdays. If you catch us on an off week, we will be at Ballina 6681 6680
Do you bulk bill?
We bulk bill for children on the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule. Families on tax benefits may be eligible. There is no adult medicare scheme available at private dentists, without a voucher. Vouchers are occasionally given out by the public dental clinics.
How much does it cost?
We have a full fee list available on our website. A $60 examination will get you started, and a more accurate quote can come from there.
Can I use my Private Health Insurance card?
Yes! We can swipe your claim on the spot. (HICAPS machine will be installed in October 2014). If there is a gap to pay we accept cash, EFTPOS or credit cards (No American Express).
