Why are we different to other physiotherapy practices?

Gosford Oncology Physiotherapy And Massage has staff who are specially trained in Oncology Physiotherapy. We are a full-service physio practice and can help you with all your normal aches, pains and strains but also help you with any side effects from your cancer treatment.

What is oncology massage?

Oncology massage is a remedial or relaxation massage to help you feel better during your cancer journey. This may or may not involve lymphoedema management and we strongly advise you to be assessed by one of our Lymphoedema Physiotherapists to develop a plan if you have lymphoedema, and then oncology massage can follow on with this plan in a more cost-effective way.

What is oncology physiotherapy?

Oncology physiotherapy is physiotherapy that helps you with the side effects of your cancer treatment. We can help you with any aches, pains or weaknesses from surgery, radiation therapy and also help with swelling or lymphoedema and scar management.

Should I exercise while I have cancer?

This question is answered after individual assessment. Generally, it is best to stay active during your cancer treatment, but as all cancer treatment is different, we need to tailor our advice about exercise based on your specific needs and take into consideration any limitations. We work closely with your Oncologist, Surgeon and Nurse Specialist to help you recover as quickly as possible.
