We offer all female lists (nurses, anaesthetist and surgeon) at the Epworth Hospital for Endoscopy (colonoscopy and gastroscopy). This is open for all patients (both male and female). Colonoscopy - examines the large bowel. This procedure can be used to look for cancer of the colon or colon polyps, and to help diagnose symptoms such as unexplained diarrhoea, abdominal pain, bloating or bleeding.

Dr. Adele Burgess is a specialist colorectal surgeon with expertise in colonoscopy, gastroscopy, and laparoscopic surgery. She is Head of Colorectal Surgery at Austin Hospital and affiliated with Mercy Hospital for Women. She treats conditions such as faecal incontinence, irritable bowel syndrome, haemorrhoids, pilonidal sinus, Pruritus ani, and colorectal cancer.
