I don’t live in Tasmania - are you able to send my jewellery item to me?

For interstate shipping, we use express Australia Post with signature on delivery and our post is fully insured. Delivery cost will depend on location. International insured shipping is via Australia Post and will be via Express registered post. Please be aware that you will be liable for all customs/duties charges associated with the delivery of your piece.

Do you have a store/showroom that I can try things on to see what suits me?

Our showroom houses a beautiful selection of handmade, hand-selected and estate pieces, as well as a handful of bespoke examples. Please note that seeing as our bespoke work is handmade to order, we don't always have examples of every style in the showroom to try on. If you would like to look at a particular piece from our website, email us to request an appointment, and we can advise availability and what we have on hand.

What is the process of designing a handmade piece?

We are able to complete designs for individuals who are local to Tasmania, or for interstate & international clients. The process can begin with either a design meeting instore with our talented jewellers or via phone/email. In this process, we will be able to get a better idea of your designs, expectations & preferences. After having a better understanding of the design, we will be able to provide an in-depth quote. Our staff will then begin the process of designing the handmade piece.

What materials do you work with?

We work with precious metals such as yellow, white & rose gold (9ct, 14ct, 18ct & 22ct), platinum, titanium, zircon, carbon fibre & sterling silver. We have local & interstate suppliers & are able to work with all precious & semi-precious stones. We are able to source all cuts & colours of diamonds & precious gemstones such as sapphires, rubies, emerald, opals etc. We also stock semi-precious gemstones such as amethyst, morganite, garnet etc. Please visit us to see our stone collections.

Do you offer expert advice?

Yes, we offer expert advice when selecting a new timepiece from our range to suit your needs.

Can I use my old jewellery to make new jewellery?

Yes, we specialise in remodelling or remaking your most treasured items, we will use your existing gold, diamonds & gemstones. This does not mean that you are limited by the gemstones that you have, we are happy to source new stones to include in your one of a kind design. We are the traditional jewellery manufacturing workshop where everything is done onsite & we remelt our own gold in-house! This means that you can turn your old jewellery items into a beautiful new piece of jewellery.

Do you only deal with Jewellery? Can I get my watch repaired with you?

Yes, you can get your watch repaired at For the Love of Gold! We will work with you on something as simple as a battery to a full service and valuation. We also keep a small selection of quality new and old Swiss watches such as Classique, Rolex, Omega, IWC, Claude Bernard and many more. Furthermore, we are the Hobart stockist for Bulova watches.
