We are the home of orthotic friendly fashion. We carry wide ranges for men and women. All our staff know how to fit shoes with orthotics and have many options to show our customers, with varying styles and colours being available. The best time to purchase is always at the start of the season. Around September for summer and March/April for winter.
We carry a wide range of larger size shoes. We generally can cater to a size 16 for men and 13 for women. Some of our collection of styles can be viewed online at: Men's footwear: styles for men. Women's footwear: styles for women.
We initially built our reputation on the correct fitting of children's shoes. All of our staff are fully trained in how to fit growing feet correctly. Why should I get my children's shoes properly fitted?
Children's shoes need to be sized so you get the combination of maximum support and growing room. There are not many brands on the market who produce different width fittings so it is important to deal with people who have choices of styles and know how they fit. Incorrect fitting of your children's shoes can lead to restrictions in growth patterns.
Should I buy my shoes online?
It is hard to purchase shoes online if you do not know exactly what you want and how they fit. Even within a particular brand, the majority of styles will fit differently. It is advisable wherever possible to try your orthotics in shoes before purchasing or wearing them.
What is a Clarks Platinum store?
Platinum stores are those which are accredited by Clarks as carrying width fittings and half sizes where possible and have fully trained fitting staff. Just because stores have width fittings in school shoes does not mean they have staff to fit them properly.
What shoes can I wear my orthotics with?
Putting orthotics into shoes does restrict your choices. The shoes need sufficient depth to accept your orthotic. However, if you shop at a store who specialises in their use, you will see that there are a large number of options available, and in more style choices than you think.
Should I buy my shoes first or get my orthotics first?
Some podiatrists will suggest you get shoes first and then take them to have orthotics made to suit. Our preference is to come in with your orthotics so we can fit them to shoes. After all, you will want to wear your orthotics in more than one pair of shoes.
What are your brands to take orthotics for ladies?
This can change per season but currently the staple brands of our ladies' orthotic styles are Klouds, Walk On, Kubo, Naot, Taos, Aetrex.
What are the largest shoes that you do?
This varies per season but we can generally fit men's shoes to a size 16 and ladies to a 13. We do carry particular lines such as a New Balance cross trainer to a men's size 20.
Can I return shoes if I buy online?
Yes, if you buy shoes online they can be returned to us for a full refund or exchange provided they are unworn and in their original packaging. Additional transport is at the expense of the purchaser.
Have you got shoes to help sore feet?
Yes, we do. This may be achieved through shoes with additional cushioning, perhaps an arch support or maybe more structure through the heel counter.
Have you got shoes for difficult to fit feet?
Yes, we have shoes to fit long or short feet, extra wide feet, and feet with conditions such as bunions, hammer toes and plantar fasciitis.
