What is it made from?
All synthetic turfs are made from either polypropylene or polyethylene. These materials are very durable and long lasting.
How do you put it altogether?
Installing an irrigation system is not a difficult process. Below is a general guide for sub surface drip pipe installation however we can provide you with more detailed instructions when you collect your system. Irrigation designer graph irrigation diagram DIY installation instructions.
How is it secured to the ground?
Once laid, the turf is infilled with dried sand (and rubber if required). The infilling process helps the lawn blades stand up properly but it also holds the lawn firmly in place.
What parts will you need and how much will they cost?
Once you have drawn your plan and measured your water flow, email and fax or bring down the plan to us where we will design your irrigation system. From there we will draw up a parts list. From the parts list, we can give you a price for the system. This can all be done while you wait. It generally takes around 15 minutes to design and price a system for you.
Does it fade?
Our range of synthetic turf is UV stabilised to minimise fading and deterioration.
How do I install it?
Synthetic turf is laid on a compacted layer of road base / dolomite. Once laid it is joined and infilled with dried sand (as well as rubber granules if required). We can give you instructions on how to install it yourself, but we recommend you to have it installed by one of our experienced layers. This will ensure a beautifully finished and long lasting job.
Is it ok for dogs?
Synthetic turf is pet friendly. There are drainage holes and any mess can be scooped up without staining.
What about life's little accidents?
Synthetic turfs are very resistant to staining so spills can be easily cleaned up. Damage to the grass can be repaired in a similar way to repairing carpet.
Will water drain off it?
These lawns are manufactured to drain quickly and efficiently. There are drainage holes throughout the lawn backing to draw through the water and stop it sitting on the surface.
How long will it last?
Under normal wear and tear, you can expect to get 10-15 years life from your synthetic turf.
