The Skinner family took over as Moonta’s undertakers from the Hosking family in 1926. At the time the Hosking family and the Skinner family were neighbours in the main street of Moonta, with the Hosking family being the towns undertaker and the Skinner family being the towns carpenter. Mr Hosking suddenly died, so Mrs. Hosking asked for much needed neighbourly help from the Skinner family. Ewart Tennyson Skinner never envisaged himself as an undertaker, but to help a neighbour out Ewart and his wife Ida Skinner began their journey in the funeral industry.

Skinner Family Funerals can provide a service chapel and reception facility for all burials and cremations. We can also organise a civil celebrant if requested as well as pre-arranged and pre-paid funerals. Skinner Family Funerals can service the following areas: Kadina, Wallaroo, Moonta, Paskeville, Maitland, Atherton, Ardrossan, Price, Port Victoria, Port Clinton, Port Broughton, Snowtown, Port Wakefield, and we can also do Adelaide services.

Please take a virtual tour of our Moonta funeral home and reception area. We are able to accommodate over 150 guests in comfort. After the chapel service, guests are able to retire in the Mostyn Paul Lounge. Grab a freshly ground cup of coffee and snack, as you reminisce with friends and family in a relaxed environment.
