Grindelwald Kennels & Cattery offers specialised care for dogs and cats in a peaceful, tree-sheltered setting in Legana, just 10 minutes from Launceston, Tasmania. Set on 20 acres of pasture at the foot of Grindelwald, it’s the perfect retreat for your pet. We aim to give you a clear overview of our services, and we’re always happy to help. About Us: All pets must be presented in a clean, healthy state, and all illnesses and allergies must be stated at the time of admission. Management reserves the right to refuse entry to these facilities to any animal we deem unclean, unhealthy, decrepit or otherwise unfit for boarding. Dogs Kennels: Our dog kennels are housed in a double-locked secure building surrounded by trees and pasture. These are semi-enclosed facilities, allowing fresh air and sunlight, while still protecting your dogs from the elements. Kennels range in size from our 16 standard kennels (2500w x 3200d), our 2 mid-size kennels (2750w x 3200d) to our 2 extra-large kennels (3200w x 3200d). To give you an indication of size, two border collies can be comfortably accommodated in our standard kennel.
Each kennel has its own fully enclosed sleeping area, which is 1m². This gives the dog a very snug & secure place to sleep that is also warm even in the middle of winter. While the kennel floors themselves are not heated, we have the facility to heat this sleeping area. The kennels themselves are individually locked and have solid concrete brick walls up to a height of 1200. This ensures that there is no physical contact between your dog and another. We make the safety of your animal a priority.
