What if an Occupation Certificate has been issued?

If an Occupation Certificate (OC) has been issued by the PCA, the PCA no longer has any involvement with the site. The Local Government Authority (Council) should be advised of any further complaints from this point onwards.

How do I organise inspections during the course of construction?

It is essential that you request an inspection for all mandatory critical stage inspections. These inspections will be noted in your approval paperwork. Contact our office prior to 4.00 pm on the day before you'd like your inspection. We aim to provide booked inspection times if necessary. About Us

When can I commence construction?

Once the application has been assessed and approved, you will need to provide us with details of the builder and relevant insurances. AcroCert will then send the Notice of Commencement to Council on your behalf. This Notice advises Council that works will commence after 48 hours.

How long does it take for AcroCert to process my application?

Our approval timeframe is between 5 to 10 days - pending the client's compliance with any Council pre-conditions of Development Consent.

Where can I find the Builder & PCA details and what do I do if I can't find them?

The Principal Contractor and PCAs contact details must be displayed in a prominent position on the construction site. If you can't find these details please contact AcroCert's office to request the Principal Contractor's details.

Why would I use AcroCert instead of the local Council?

Unlike Council staff, our accredited certifiers must undergo a lengthy process to become accredited by the Building Professionals Board. To remain accredited each year, our staff must maintain a high level of competence and undergo regular training to ensure ongoing continuing professional development. We place a high emphasis on personalising our approval and inspection service. We work with you to achieve the best possible results.
