General Info

"Enriching the lives of older people".

If you look after an older person and need some time out to rest and recuperate, or just to have some time to yourself, community respite offers extra support in your home, at a centre or in social group.

Residential Services are provided at Aged Care sites including: Aberfoyle Park, Bellevue Heights, Craigmore, Leabrook, Malvern, Marion, Mitcham, Mount Gambier, Murray Bridge, Paradise, Port Elliot, and Westbourne Park. Accommodation includes single room with ensuite (some companion rooms are available), and specialised dementia care is available at most sites.

Resthaven Aberfoyle Park is located in the main business precinct, with capacity to accommodate 100 people. While the whole site is a suitable environment for people with dementia and/or high level clinical care; smaller areas will be dedicated to specialised care for people with dementia and associated behaviours. Two rooms are dedicated to residential respite, providing opportunity for carers of older people to have a break from their caring role. In bringing services to Resthaven Aberfoyle Park, we will provide a model consistent with our purpose and values, responding to all older people and their carers, but with special attention to older vulnerable and financially/socially disadvantaged people. Our anticipated workforce (approximately 100 staff) will include an experienced Manager of Residential Services, a Care Coordinator overseeing clinical care; registered and enrolled nurses, allied health professionals, chaplain, personal care workers, hospitality, maintenance, lifestyle and clerical support staff. Residents and care staff will have access to registered nursing staff, 24 hours/day, 7 days a week, with high level support by qualified clinical team (continence nurse advisors, senior manager clinical services, clinical services coordinator, Nurse Practitioner Palliative Care).
