We deliver innovative solutions through advanced knowledge and analysis to meet our client's needs.
We have operated as a private consultancy in Darwin since 2017. We have developed a reputation for prompt, reliable and accurate work at reasonable prices. Our success is measured by our large volume of return business.
We conduct site and soil evaluations in compliance with AS/NZS 1547:2021 and the Northern Territory Code of Practice 2020 for effective effluent treatment. We have developed a rapid turnaround. Once we attend the site to conduct tests (3 to 4 hours), the report is usually available the next day.
Soil tests are conducted in accordance with AS 2870-2011. On site, dynamic cone penetrometer tests are conducted to determine bearing capacity and soil samples are taken from a bore hole for analysis in a NATA registered laboratory to determine the engineering properties of the soil. We use a Darwin based laboratory to reduce cost and turnaround time. A site classification is based on characteristic surface movement calculated using the latest research methods.
Testing is conducted in accordance with AS 1289. We use a variety of methods (DCP, PSP, sand replacement) depending on the type of material used to construct the pad. If a pad does not meet compaction requirement further testing may be required once further compaction of the pad is undertaken.

Why do I need a site classification for my house?
Although site classifications are quite similar across Darwin, Palmerstone and the rural area, soil properties can vary considerably over short distances. Site classifications are used by your Engineer and Builder to provide you with the highest quality construction. Although rare, subsidence can occur. The risk is never zero, but soil testing can provide a higher level of confidence.
Do you only provide services directly to builders and plumbers?
No. We provide services directly to the homeowner. Often your builder may suggest you contact us directly.
What are site and soil evaluations?
These evaluations assess land suitability for septic wastewater management, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and codes. The results of soil tests are used by your plumber or builder to design the optimum wastewater management system.

The soil testing was booked in over the phone without a hassle, and had great availability for times to complete the work. The gentleman arrived early to the job, was super polite and took the time to explain the process. Once the work was finished, he left the area as it was when he got there. Soil test report was completed and back to me by COB the following day. Would recommend their service to anyone needing soil testing, top notch customer service!
