If your looking for service, do not bother

Vehicle dropped off for diagnostics, 2x weeks later, 7 unanswered calls later, spoke to a service advertiser - he ws extremely rude, unprofessional and abrasive with communication.

As a fellow business owner in this industry extremely disappointing that this is a large dealership and workshop with advisors that communicate very poorly.

No resolution just payment demand.

Appalling service

Our daughter and her family of small children have been stranded for a week , homeless and at great expense while this service centre FAILED to provide reasonable service for a fault. They are on their way to Darwin as a military deployment and time has ticked away while the inadequate service department failed to correctly identify and resolve the problem. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME.

I had a very bad experience with Newcastle city Holden. I purchased a 2009 Suzuki Grand Vitara in October 2014 with 100,000ks. I do about 40,000ks a year, salesman said that if I get the mechanical protection plan and take it to them for servicing, it will have a caped service price and I won't have to worry about anything.

Well that's not what happened, they didn't take good care of the car at all. If it's covered by the mechanical protection plan they won't do it unless you ask. The capped price service only covers an oil change, and checking the car. And when your car blows a head gasket, not only did they say it's not covered they charged me $260 to diagnose it, something a mechanic down the road did for free.

The reason I took it to a mechanic down the road was because Newcaslte Holden quoted me $8,000-11,0000 to put in a refurbished engine. Or potentially pay even more to fix it.

After having the car re diagnosed within 5 minutes at the other mechanic I was quoted $2500-$3000.

I would strongly recommend you never buy a used car from Newcastle city Holden, or service your car with them.

I wish I had read the reveiws on this page before taking my car to Newcastle Holden. What you are told on the phone is totally different when you drop the car off. I wish they had informed me correctly on the phone before hand so that I could arrange alternate transport. The way the service manager handled this matter was so unprofessional I will no longer be bringing my car here for servicing.

Think twice!!! The service we received was unfathomably bad. Our car had been serviced here two weeks earlier and literally came to a atop out the front of the dealership it a massive cloud of black smoke.
They had our car for a week - wouldn't tell us how long it would take to fix, wouldn't even tell us when they'd start work on it.
We eventually had to it towed to a proper mechanic and within two hours the parts were ordered we had a quote for the work and a price.
Newcastle city holden had the audacity to charge $387 for having held our car for a week. They had looked at one part in all that time - not fixed it or ordered it, just looked at it to get a serial number.
We could not be less happy with the unprofessionalism displayed by this business, and I feel obliged to let other know that they will not provide you with value for money service.
Take your car elsewhere.

If you need finance I would stay away from these guys. You'll get stung with huge dealership fees which the finance department will do their best not to disclose.
Also, if you have any issues with your vehicle, expect 2 or 3 trips back to the dealership to get it fixed. This lot couldn't organise a booze up in a brewery.
