Kimberley Ports Authority Broome Port is the largest deep-water access port servicing the Kimberley region and is open to shipping on a 24 hour basis seven days a week.

The wharf is a steel structure with a concrete deck and spring fendering. The outer berth is 331 metres in length, with two landside berths of 170 m and 96 m in length. From Chart Datum (CD) it is approximately 13.6 m to the wharf deck and the fender system extends to 12.2 m above CD.

Vessels wishing to berth at the Broome wharf are limited to an overall length of 300 metres and a berthing displacement of 50,000 tonnes. The minimum depth at the outer berth is 9.2m.

Broome enjoys a semi diurnal tide pattern with a range of 9.4 metres on mean spring tides, as a result strong tidal currents are experienced in the entrance channel and alongside the berths.
